1. The Tasmania Trail signs are too small. Any new ones to be used need to be the size of a dinner plate. When the weather is bad it is very hard to see the existing signs. Also plant growth can cover them in a fairly short period. 2. More signs are required. This is particularly important when a decision is reqired to turn or take a new road. When you are riding a mountain bike it is very hard, time consuming and frustrating to be refering to the map all the time. The lack of signs and prominance is severely reducing the enjoyment of doing the trail. It would also be helpful when there is a turn off onto a more major road to have a sign pointing to the nearest town. For example when we came out of the forest near Elendale, there was no sign to say which way Elendale was. It was about 5 degrees and pouring. A sign to show which way to the nearest town would have been extremely helpful. Refering to a map in those conditions is very difficult. 3. The accomodation providers along the trail need more communication about what is happening with the trail. It may help resources if they were to take on some familiarity and responsibility for the trail eg ensuing markers are still there and are available to be called by users of that section if a sign is missing and they need to ask which way to go. EG the wife of the Motel owner in Deloriane rides a horse on the trail all the time. 4. It is obvious the trail is mostly being used by mountain bikers. It would be an idea to rethink about the trail due to this. A specific guide book for mountain bikers would be a good idea. A revisit of how the track is marked given Mountain bikes can travel at up to 60km down hill would help. 5. More single track would be great, if it could be created. Otherwise I must commend everyone involved in Tasmania on developing the Trail in the first place. I also can't beleive the untapped potential of this trail, given the size of the Australian and Global mountain biking community. see http://www.parks.tas.gov.au/recreat/tastrail.html
