It's great that you will be joining hundreds of other Tasmanian's and riding to work on Wednesday 17 October. Well done to those who have organised a workplace breakfast.
Hobart Community Breakfast
CyclingSouth, with help from Hobart City Council and Bicycle Tasmania, is putting on a free cyclist breakfast in Hobart to help you refuel before heading off to your workplace. Come and join us, along with Andy Muirhead from ABC local radio, at Mawson Place (corner Davey and Argyle Sts) from 6.30am. There will be prizes and giveaways throughout the morning and lots of yummy food.
The menu includes
- Toast, scones and baked goods courtesy Bakers Delight
- Cereal, fruit and juice courtesy Hobart City Council
- Coffee courtesy ABC local radio
To make it an environmentally-friendly event and help reduce waste and washing up for the volunteers it would be great if you could bring along your own bowl, mug or plate (don't worry if you forget, we will be providing some).
Prizes and giveaways
Pick up your prize draw ticket from the CyclingSouth table when you arrive to be eligible for spot prizes throughout the morning.
Special guests
At 8am Hobart Lord Mayor, Rob Valentine, will say a few words and Kingborough Mayor, Graham Bury, will be arriving by bike. Both will give a brief overview of what their respective councils have been doing to make improvements for cycling.
Cycling information
Bicycle Tasmania will be helping out on the day and you can find out more about their rides and insurance at the Bicycle Tasmania table.
CyclingSouth will have a table with information on Adult Cycling Courses, Road rules, bike maps and other cycling information.
If you work in the northern suburbs you can stop at the Glenorchy rest and revive station on the cycleway near Northgate for a snack on your way, thanks to Glenorchy City Council.
Have a great ride to work on Wednesday 17th October and hopefully we'll see you at the breakfast.
