We are the Tasmanian arm of Bicycle Network and are in the process of moving from being a state-based organisation to a part of the national Bicycle Network. We are a member-based health promotion charity, and we pride ourselves in being inclusive of all forms of cycling.
Our vision is:
More Tasmanians Riding More Often.
Our Mission is:
To promote, advocate and support bike riding in Tasmania as a healthy, enjoyable and environmentally sustainable form of transport, recreation and tourism, through engagement with the community, government and industry at all levels. We work in a watchdog role with government agencies and Councils, to look out for the interests of all cyclists.
Membership of Bicycle Network is open to anybody living in Tasmania who cycles, or has an interest in cycling.
The local branch, called Bicycle Network Tasmania, has a state committee and links with a number of member Bicycle User Groups (BUGs). We have a representative on the Tasmanian Bicycle Council, have representatives on several local Council bicycle advisory committees and strong relationships with other local riders' groups.
