Due to changes in the insurance industry CA is unable to offer promoters / clubs any Novicover insurance for recreational or novice events in 2005 due to the greater assumption of risk with recreational / novice riders. The cost for non CA members in recreational or novice events will be $25 per person (GST incl.), which will include automatic non-competitive membership. The fee should be included in the event race fees. Promoters / clubs should confirm fee structure with CA prior to advertising their event fees for 2005 events. Please note there is NO blanket cover for any event in 2005.” Note: Audax Australia membership is also $60. (26-2-2005) Tim has subsequently found out that insurance would be $18. This is were there is a HCC proposed loop MTB track. 9.6 CyclingSouth 5-Alive holiday program has just completed; adult rider courses to start soon and expand into the north of the state. 9.7 Web Site – Andrew Total web site hits for month: 6,008 per day: 170 (December 3,877 November 4,400 October:6,800). ACTION Andrew: fix membership form – change concession from $20 to $45. 9.8 Membership – David David reported 35 single (5 less than previous month) + 3 concession (1 less) + 16 family (8 less) + 3 corporate = 57 total; 24 complementary. 10 New business 10.1 CYCLECOVER Insurance CYCLECOVER – “We offer a specialist policy for Cycling User Groups covering Liability & Personal Accident Cover for members whilst riding their bicycle. This is a 24 hours a day/7 day a week cover. The accident cover includes loss of income, non Medicare benefits and a range of capital benefits. We are also members of the Cycling Promotion Fund and donate a % of our turnover back into the fund. We are also prepared to offer major sponsorship of Bicycle Tasmania events. Along with this our rates on these covers are extremely attractive. I guess the ultimate goal is to get the best cover and the best premiums for your members. The Cycling Promotion Fund and Event Sponsorship's are an added bonus for your group. If you are open to discussions on these covers I will be happy to talk further about the cover and the premiums that would apply.” Andrew mentioned that the ATTA Sandy Bay to Bonnet Hill time trials only cost $5 for non-members to enter.
