Calendar runs out in June, need more suggestions and leaders for rides from then on; Tim will be away for all of July and possibly August. 8 Committee and Other Reports 8.1 Kingborough BUG Richard reported (email) - Glenorchy MTB Park is well advanced and there is to be a volunteer's construction day the weekend after next starting about lunchtime'on Saturday. All are welcome. The KBug has not held a meeting since last month as Greg Clauscen is on holidays. The ATTA off road mtb Time Trials proposed for Peter Murrell Reserve in Blackmans Bay, looks all set to go.We are just waiting for final permission from State Parks &Wildlife, but it looks like a given. The Time Trials will be run @ 6:30 pm on the last Tuesday of each month until September. The course will be sign posted with small reflective signs and the course is 6 km long, you will have the choice of 1 or 2 rounds. The surface ranges from sand to rock and has some nice little downhills and only one major climb. ATTA will charge a small fee to cover insurance, but the TT is available to be entered by anyone, just make sure you have good lights, you will need them. The Mt Wellington Trust is in the process of reviewing their Bike Strategy and it is proposed that a new track is to be built specifically for cyclists from Shoobridge Bend to Junction Cabin running along the 650mt contour line. From Junction Cabin the track will continue to the MTB Park in Glenorchy. This will satisfy the needs of cyclists who use to use the Lenah Valley Track, and also make Old Farm Rd available for Downhill riding. As Myrtle Gully Track runs parrallel to Old Farm Rd, it is proposed that the road will be signposted for use by cyclists. This makes sense as it is rarely used by walkers as it is too steep and Myrtle Gully Track is much easier and a prettier walk. I would be interested to know how we are progressing with insurance for non-members who wish to participate in any BT rides or functions. Unless people can "feel the water" so to speak, we are not going to increase membership.” 8.2 Hobart BUG – Ambrose 8.3 CyclingSouth 8.4 Web Site – Andrew Total web site hits for month: 6,860 per day: 35 (March 5,390 February 6,008 December 3,877). 8.5 Membership – David 8.6 Salamanca 6 Hour 9 New business 9.1 Riding More Than 2 Abreast It’s illegal and it’s given the law abiding cyclists a bad reputation. 9.2 Give Cyclists a Metre t-shirts Margaret Day will be in Hobart late May to mid June and wonders if BT is interested in a few “Give Cyclists a Metre t-shirts”?
