ABC News had approached BT for views on local council elections. 14 Committee and Other Reports 14.1 Kingborough BUG Tim received minutes. 14.2 Hobart BUG Ambrose reported HCC BUG activities included a meeting 8/9/05 and an inspection ride 25/8/05 of the lower pipeline track and fire trail down to the Water Works Reserve which will soon be signed and opened to cyclists. 2005/2006 Budget Allocation: - Greening of the cycleway (bbq) project 10,000 - Sandy Bay Road – bike lane 5,000 - Pipeline track upgrade 2,000 - Grosvenor Street – bike lane 2,000 - Cycleway signage 8,000 - Bike ramp at Railway Roundabout 2,000 - Brooker Highway drop kerbs 4,000 - Bike rack outside Town Hall 1,000 - Bike Week funding 1,500 - Cycling South Adult Training Course Subsidy 1,000 TOTAL $36,500 14.3 CyclingSouth Tim reported Mary McParland, previously with BikeVic, has started at CyclingSouth. 14.4 Web Site Andrew reported no statistics were available. A new hit counting system was being trialed which may save time. 14.5 Membership David reported numbers hadn't changed from previous meeting. 14.6 Social Rides Tim reported September ride was very successful – Kingston Beach, Blackmans Bay, Tinderbox, Howden. The next ride is Sunday 30th October – Cygnet (10am), Lymington, Glaziers Bay, Cygnet. 35km. ACTION all members: Tim will not be able to lead the November and December rides; leaders required. 15 New business 15.1 Budget Estimates Deferred to next meeting. 15.2 Tasmanian Environment Centre – Home Expo Will be held on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th November. Tim could possibly attend both days, Andrew Saturday, David Sunday. Tony said that the banner needed improving from last year to indicate what BT "was all about". Any extra help would be appreciated. Tony said that having trike around confused the message BT was trying to put to the public. ACTION David: print "advocacy, advise, adventure" in large letters and print logo in color. ACTION Tim/ Andrew: obtain laptop from Mary and prepare suitable powerpoint presentation with Andrew. 16 Meeting Finished At 7.10pm and was followed by a slide presentation by Ian Terry and Tim Stredwick on recent South Australian desert trips. 17 Next Meeting Will be held at the Environment Centre, 102 Bathurst Street at 5.30pm on Thursday 17th November.
