ACTION Andrew: organise laptop, screen and projector for AGM - done. 9 Business Arising 9.1 Home Expo Roster/ what to display. Greg Clausen/ power assisted bicycle poster (The (almost) perfect commuter vehicle) – how do we want to handle it. Has suggested poster & petition. 9.2 Cyclist Defence Fund Donation Tim (deferred to next meeting) - Just to follow up on our donation to the Cyclist Defence Fund in the UK, they have received a total of 18,000 pounds in response to the guy who was fined for riding in the middle of the lane. 10 New business 10.1 Insurance Tim (deferred to next meeting) – "Bicycle SA now includes personal accident cover as an integral part of their membership fees for $75 individual $105 household, see http://www.bikesa.asn.au/index.php the personal accident cover is provided by Cyclecover who are our PL insurers. As you will be aware this is not much more than our membership fee without personal accident cover ($60 individual, $95 family) .Given our problems with Cyclesafe/BV is it worth contacting them to whether we could offer our members this insurance too. We may possibly have to make it an integral part of our membership fees and may also not get such a good deal given our smaller membership base." 10.2 BT Sign Andrew (deferred to next meeting) - Now we have a bit of spare cash maybe we should engage Dave Ross to make us a decent all weather BT sign? 10.3 BT Library Andrew (deferred to next meeting) - Now we are getting Australian Cyclists (from BFA) maybe we should start up a library at the Environment Centre? Have approached Sustainable Living Tasmania and they sound positive. 11 Meeting Finished The meeting finished at 6.20pm and was followed by presentations from Peter Jensen on cycling through Pakistan, John Tolhurst on cycling from Adelaide to Darwin, David Edwards on transport in the USA, Andrew Heard of the Salamanca Six Hour Human Power Vehicle trial. 12 Next Meeting Will be held at the Environment Centre, 102 Bathurst Street at 5.30pm on Thursday 16th November. 13 Items Not Discussed Various items (as noted) were deferred to next meeting.
