Ride to the Bash 21 January

We at Bicycle Network Tasmania have long thought that offering free secure valet bike parking at major sporting events in Tassie would be a great thing.  This week we have a breakthrough, with Blundstone Arena approaching us to provide our quality valet parking service for the first time and at a highly popular Big Bash event.  We are also delighted to see this proposal supported by Clarence Council.

The Blundstone Arena is perfectly placed to ride your bike to. The Clarence Foreshore Trail runs right past it and that means riding a bike to the cricket or football is a viable choice for Eastern Shore residents from Geilston Bay to Howrah, particularly for families.  People from other areas can Park 'n Ride, leaving your car at a spot handy to the Clarence Foreshore Trail.

Here is a map of Park 'n Ride possibilities:

Our free secure valet bike parking service will be open on the corner of Church and Beach Streets, from 11.15am to 7.45pm, so that you can catch both the WBBL and the BBL games.

The access from the Clarence Foreshore Trail to that corner of the grounds is via a new path through a carpark on the southern side of the arena, and then along a (hopefully) quiet stretch of Beach Street.  Watch out for traffic in this last section of your ride.
