State Election 2014 Campaign

About this campaign

Bicycle Tasmania has sent questionnaires to all major party campaign headquarters to seek their statements on cycling policy and initiatives. The questions are aimed to better inform voters of candidate policies and ensure that active transport is on the agenda in the lead-up to the State Election.

Bicycle Tasmania's State Election Campaign aims to provide safer facilities for cyclists, encourage more Tasmanians to commute by bicycle and ensure that bike use is on the State Election agenda. The social, economic and health benefits associated with bike riding are many and well understood. Providing first-class bike facilities is paramount to promote bike use, and so build healthy and lively communities.

Great and comprehensive in detail, thank you very much BT. An essential read for any voter who ranks bicycling infrastructure highly in their voting priorities.

Noted Julian Amos hanging out at the intercity cycleway yesterday. All politics aside, it was good to see a candidate actually making an effort to meet their constituents.
