Metro is trialing bike racks on some of its services from 30 December 2012 to 2 February 2013.  Bike racks will be fitted to the front of 10 Metro buses operating on selected Bus and Bike services in Hobart.  Bike racks are quick and easy to use and carry two bikes per rack.

The trial will determine the suitability of the services, any operational issues and how services and operations could be improved if the services were to be made available on an ongoing basis.



Bike racks are available for use on selected services operating on the following routes and at designated stops only:

Route 45           Huon Road to junction of Strickland Avenue
Route 48           Fern Tree via Huon Road (to junction of Strickland Avenue only)

    Bus stop M Franklin Square (Elizabeth Street)
    Bus stop 7 Davey Street (outside 272)
    Junction of Huon Road and Strickland Avenue (bikes must be removed from racks here)

Designated stops – inbound
    Bus stop 22 Huon Road (corner of Turnip Fields Road)
    Bus stop 7 Davey Street (opposite 284)
    Macquarie Street opposite Franklin Square


Route 615         Camelot Park via Rosny Park and Shoreline

    Shoreline Central
    Bus stop 33 Tranmere Road (Camelot Park Terminus)
