Bike Tas NW Sunday Ride
Starting from the Moorleah Hall and heading south to the small village of Preolenna. Once a centre for soldier settlers most of the farms have been converted from dairying to tree growing over the past 20 years.
A coal mine and railway once operated here but have long since disappeared. 18 families now reside in the area. The Primary School has closed along with local churches but the community still have their community hall and Cenotaph recording the war time service of its residents. Apple and chestnut orchards are found closer to Preolenna.
Gray Hodge will lead the ride of 31kilometres.
Facilities will be open at the Moorleah Hall from around 10:30 am and for lunch (BYO) on returning.
