Circular Head Loop via Mengha
A great ride ending with homemade pizza, with an option of camping on Saturday night to explore Stanley.
Two choices to suit all energy levels. Starting close to Stanley and heading west on the Bass Highway before turning south onto rural roads which will return us to the start. The Bass Highway section has good visibility and a shoulder.
Ride A: Longer option
41km with total 354m ascent Map and Profile
Ride B: Easier option
27km with total 164m ascent Map and Profile
Meet:
RA 280 (2.8km) along Stanley Highway from Bass Highway – Access on right via East Inlet Track, then a private bitumen road on your left. Follow this for around 100metres which hooks around to your right. Google Map
You will see a brown brick house and two smaller buildings where we will be having pizza.
The kitchen includes a fridge to keep ingredients cool. Toilet facilities also available.
There’s plenty of room for parking and camping (even a couple of vans) on Saturday night for those who want to make a weekend of it.
Organisers: Richard Muir-Wilson
Post ride Lunch: Pizza Lunch
Apart from a hot pizza oven, Richard will have pizza bases and basic ingredients such as tomato paste and mozzarella.
Bring your favourite fillings to spice it up.
