E-bike Convoy to Electrikhana
Join the Convoy of E-bikes riding to Electrikhana 2018 at the Glenorchy Showground. Electrikhana is an Australian Electric Vehicles (Tas branch) expo event designed to showcase the range of electric vehicles currently available to consumers. Of course e-bikes are already widely available as electric vehicles and can be a car (or second car) replacement for many.
It's an easy and safe 8km jaunt along the Inter City Cycleway, from the Regatta Ground carpark to the Showgrounds in Glenorchy. We'll make a lot of noise on arrival at the expo (bring your bells and whistles!).
If you are a new e-bike owner, you'll enjoy this opportunity to check out other people's bikes and to gain confidence on your bike on a safe path. At Electrikhana, you can check out new EVs on display, talk to EV owners about their experiences with their vehicles and even go for a ride in an EV. Electrikana will be open from 9am to 4pm.
Those who are interested can join in the E-bike Show and Tell part of the EV expo - you can show off your e-bike and answer questions from interested members of the public. If you'd like to be in the Show and Tell, please let Di know (email to email@example.com), and we'll send you more info.
Meet at the Regatta Ground carpark, McVilly Drive at 8.15am, to register, and we'll set out at 8.30am.
Pls RSVP below, and watch the Bicycle Network Tasmania website/FB page for updates.
You can find more information about Bicycle Network Tasmania's Social Rides Program here, including an explanation of the ride descriptor codes.
Our fortnightly In The Loop email newsletter gives a heads'up on scheduled rides. You can register here if you don't already receive In The Loop - make sure you tick: "Advocacy - campaigns and programs".
Bicycle Network Tasmania makes every effort to ensure our organised rides are safe, however participants are advised to ensure they have insurance against accidents. The best option is to become a member of Bicycle Network. This ensures you have excellent year-round 24/7 cover against both Personal Injury and Third Party Personal/Property damage whilst riding your bike.
Please note - if there are any riders under 16 years old, the adult with them will take primary responsibility for their safety on the ride.
