E-bike coffee club goes to MONA
To celebrate Seniors Week in the south, we're e-biking to MONA for coffee and lunch, although who needs an excuse?
Enjoy a relaxed ride with fellow riders of e-bikes, trying a different route through the northern suburbs, on quiet roads and offroad bikepaths. We'll have lunch at MONA to celebrate Jack's birthday and then return along the InterCity Cycleway. You'll be able to check out a new route, develop your e-bike knowledge and gain confidence in managing your e-steed on Hobart's bikepaths and roads.
This ride takes us for a scenic tour through Lutana, Goodwood and GASP in Montrose, on suburban roads (the e-bikes will be handy on the gentle hill here). At MONA we'll have lunch and coffee, probably at the bistro. The ride back to the city will be along the smooth and safe InterCity Cycleway.
27km, back about 2.30pm. 2-B-27. Your Ride Leaders are Di Elliffe and Jack Gilding.
Note: this is a "fair weather ride" :) We'll cancel around 5pm the day before if rain looks likely, and will advise people who've RSVP'ed.
Here's a likely map of the ride.
Meet at the Hobart Cenotaph carpark, 10 minutes before the start time of 11.00am.
Our fortnightly In The Loop email newsletter also gives a heads'up on scheduled rides. You can register here if you don't already receive In The Loop - make sure you tick: "Advocacy - campaigns and programs".
Bicycle Network Tasmania makes every effort to ensure our organised rides are safe, however participants are advised to ensure they have insurance against accidents. The best option is to become a member of Bicycle Network. This ensures you have excellent year-round 24/7 cover against both Personal Injury and Third Party Personal/Property damage whilst riding your bike.
Please note - if there are any riders under 16 years old, the adult with them will take primary responsibility for their safety on the ride.
