How the Savvy Cyclist rides
This powerful animation, produced by the group Cycling Savvy in the US, demonstrates very well some of the hazards on the road and how the rider can better position her or himself safely to reduce the risks.
The animation illustrates the dangers of riding too far to the left (of course they talk about being too far to the right), such as:
- poor road shoulder conditions
- trailers that are wider than the vehicle towing them
- being in a car's blind spot
- being obscured by a car
- being obscured by roadside shrubbery
- poor driver habits
etc...
Control the Lane is the message, and it's a good one.
Share this animation with your friends and work colleagues, they'll get the message.
