Lutana Link Meeting
There is a push by residents in the vicinity of the now disused railway spur at Lutana, Hobart, to lobby for conversion of this rail spur corridor to community use. The new group is called Lutana Link. Uses of the vacant space include a safe cycleway for residents, workers and schoolkids to cross above the busy Brooker Highway.
Bicycle Tasmania has been lobbying for this bikepath for some time, see details of the proposal here.
The corridor is in some places up to 25m wide, so there is scope for some other uses. Lutana Link is meeting on 17 August to discuss the project.
