RACT Board election 2014

Voting for 4 new members of the RACT Board opened on 1 October and closes at 12 noon, Wednesday 5 November.  6 candidates are standing this time around.

Some RACT members still receive the printed Journeys magazine. Inside the magazine, readers will find information about the election of the RACT Board and instructions about how to vote. Magazines are printed and distributed over a period of weeks.

Members who no longer receive the printed magazine should receive a letter with the voting forms in it - but only one voting form per household! They will also receive the monthly eNews email, which, it should be pointed out, in Oct 2014 edition did not mention the upcoming election of the Board.

Members who don’t receive the magazine or letter or their own voting form (e.g. partners of the “main” member) will need to log in to the RACT Members’ Hub (there is a link to it in the RACT eNews email) to find out about the election and to print up the ballot paper (instructions below) OR drop into your nearest RACT office and ask for another voting form.

Accessing the Members’ Hub: If you are not already registered for the Hub, enter your member number and click on “Lost password” and you should then be offered the opportunity to record a password for the Hub.

Once in the Members’ Hub, go to page two of the Newsfeed, and find the RACT Board election item, and this information:

Categories of members permitted to vote:
Service members (Roadside Ultimate, Roadside Advantage)
Social Members
Honorary Life Members
Paid Life Members
Nominated person holding a Fleet Membership
Note: in accordance with the Membership By-laws "Access" members do not have voting rights

Each eligible member is allowed only one vote in this ballot.

Ballot opens on 1 October 2014. All ballot papers must be received by 12 noon, Wednesday 5 November 2014

The four candidates with the highest number of votes cast are elected. The result will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on 12 November 2014

If you have not received a ballot paper in your Journeys magazine, you can download a ballot paper to complete and return by clicking this link. Please follow the instructions contained on the ballot paper in order to ensure your vote is valid.

Bicycle Tasmania is preparing a How to Vote guide on the most "bike friendly" candidates, and is currently awaiting the returns of a candidate survey.  Results will be posted here by c.o.b. Wednesday 15 October.
