Tasmanian on Board
For the last couple of years, we have had a Tasmanian on the Board of Bicycle Network. When an additional Board position was made available to us in 2014 following the merger of Bicycle Tasmania with Bicycle Network, we nominated Peter Thurling for the role. Peter has since done an excellent job working for bike riders on the Board. His initial term is now up, and the State Committee is keen that we continue to have a Tasmanian voice within the Board.
Voting for the Board members opens on Tues 27 September and closes on Tues 11 October.
The candidates' statements in support of their candidacy are here.
The Committee recommends that members get involved and vote here.
We recommend voting 1 Peter Thurling. Peter understands the Tassie riding environment and is a strong, positive and energetic advocate for riders. We also think it is important to retain his experience on the Board at the moment as it is going through some significant changes in membership (for example Jeremy Ball the long standing and well respected Chair is stepping down).
