To market, to market
A relaxed, easy ride along the Sandy Bay cycle path, led by Greg Dutkowski. One of our free Social Rides, this is an easy roll along the mostly level Sandy Bay Rd, mostly on onroad marked bikelanes. If you've not ridden along Sandy Bay Rd before, this is a great chance to do it in company and gain confidence in dealing with the traffic.
The destination is the fabulous Hobart Twilight Market in Lower Sandy Bay, where we will enjoy food and wine on the lawns, pick up some fruit and veg, and perhaps pick up some locally made arts and crafts.
This ride: 1-A-7. A 3.5km ride each way, at a leisurely pace, mostly on designated bikelanes. Pretty flat.
Meet at the Errol Flynn Reserve, at the beach on Marieville Esplanade, 15 minutes before the start time of 6pm.
You can find more information about Bicycle Network Tasmania's Social Rides Program here, including an explanation of the ride descriptor codes.
Bicycle Network Tasmania makes every effort to ensure our organised rides are safe, however participants are advised to ensure they have insurance against accidents. The best option is to become a member of Bicycle Network. This ensures you have excellent year-round 24/7 cover against both Personal Injury and Third Party Personal/Property damage whilst riding your bike.
Please note - if there are any riders under 16 years old, the adult with them will take primary responsibility for their safety on the ride.
